Take a poster portrait of the most iconic of sixties rock stars, painted when you were at school, scan it and push the contrast slider to maximum and you have the launchpad for this multi-layered work. Six picture frames went into the making of this piece on the theme of 'Surface'. The title comes from that most psychedelic of meisterworks on Are you experienced?: the sonic experiment that is Third stone from the sun. The title refers to the Earth, of course. An elliptical tribute to James Marshall Hendrix.
