Borin Van Loon: Green woman
Green Woman. Gouache, coloured pencil and collage

Borin writes: "I have long thought of making a version of a Green Man, so here's a twist: a Green Woman with shades of the Hindu goddess Kali, perhaps. The Green Man is probably of pagan origins, but images appear in churches and cathedrals, a face emerging from foliage, often having tendrils and leaves flowing from mouth, ears and nostrils. These latter characteristics are often omitted from modern depictions."
